Rare handcrafted antique 18th-century ring featuring a 6.5 Carat oval-cut cabochon seawater blue aquamarine and 925 sterling silver.
Appears to be a size 9. The gemstone is believed to originate from the mountains in Siberia. In very good condition with no cracks in the gemstone. Some scratches are present on the silver, as expected for its age.
Aquamarine is Latin for water. The Greeks believed it held the spirit of the sea, protecting wearers from adversity at sea, preventing sea sickness, and promoting courage. Hence the name, Mariners Ring.
