A remarkable piece of telecommunications and jewelry history: a rare 1920s Art Deco miniature book pendant brooch featuring original phone numbers. While showing some rubbing to the gold gilding, it retains perfect structure and functionality. The brooch features a molded metal leaf upper with a C-catch. The book pendant contains 10 individual pages (20 if front and back are counted) with handwritten phone numbers, tiny drawings, and addresses from the original owner.
Of historical interest, the early alphanumeric exchange system phone number formatting is present, which was first seen in 1917 and widely used in the United States from the 1920s until the mid-century. The inside front page bears the 1920s-era Bell System Logo encircled by the text, "New England Telephone & Telegraph Co" and "American Telephone & Telegraph Co". The book clasps securely. Please see photos for detailed measurements. Untested, as-is.
