Very RARE one-pound smooth bore cannonball from the American Revolutionary War, ca. 1770. In overall very good, untouched condition with lightly oxidized iron. Approximately 1.8 inches in diameter.
A fine example of an original 18th-century "1-Pounder" cannon ball. Used as a single projectile or as "grape shot."
Found in a 200-year-old barn in southern North Carolina. Untested.
