Shelter Support
Helping the homeless access safe living spaces.
235, 000
Canadians experience homelessness in a given year
The actual number is potentially much higher, given that many people who are unhoused live with friends or relatives, and do not come into contact with emergency shelters.
Helping the homeless:
“You can spend money on new housing for poor people and the homeless, or you can spend it on a football stadium or a golf course.” – Jello Biafra.
Here at SacredHand Canada we believe that every person should have a roof over their head. It is our mission to improve the lives of women, men, youth, and children who have experienced homelessness. One of the most common misconceptions people have when someone says they’re homeless is that anyone can just show up at a shelter and be housed. Nothing could be further from the truth. We help these people put a roof over their head and give them safe living spaces to be able to thrive in our communities.
SacredHand Canada recognizes that job sustainability has been affected recently especially in the effects of Covid-19. 1 in 7 Canadians live in poverty and under stress everyday. We are committed to ensuring that the most marginalized and vulnerable people can live with dignity and become self-reliant. Our program helps people secure safe housing to prevent homelessness by providing rent subsidies.
